CR 50 AND COUNTING

Cristiano Ronaldo is a perfect example of ambition and competitive spirit. He never gives up; his insatiable appetite for scoring goals always kicks in just at the right moment.
The last time was against Valencia at the Bernabéu. An unbelievable back-heel volley saved Real Madrid's skin. It was his 50th goal of the season; a stratospheric scoring milestone that is nothing new for the Portuguese player. The goal not only keeps Real Madrid's title hopes alive but also boosts his own chances in the quest for two personal awards: the 'Pichichi' and the Golden Shoe. After three weeks warming the bench due to injury, Ancelotti is making sure his star player is firing on all cylinders on the home straight.
To go where Messi has never gone before is virtually impossible. Impossible that is except for Ronaldo who holds a record which, to date, has proven to be beyond the Argentine's reach.
Ronaldo's goal against Valencia is not newsworthy merely because he reached the magical figure to which we have all become accustomed, but because this is the fourth consecutive season he has managed it.

CR7 fights tooth and nail for team titles and personal awards alike. One of the awards that practically has his name on it is the 'Pichichi' for the top scorer in La Liga. The goal he scored on Sunday against Valencia puts him three ahead of Barca’s Messi and four ahead of cross town rival’s Diego Costa and he has a game in hand on his two closest challengers, on Wednesday against Valladolid.
